Shooting Investigation Underway After Vehicle Struck By Gunfire On Westacre Drive

Jonesboro, AR – Jonesboro Right Now – Jonesboro police are investigating a shooting Saturday night after a vehicle was struck multiple times by gunfire in the 2400 block of Westacre Drive.

According to a social media post from the Jonesboro Police Department, officers responded to the area at approximately 8:07 p.m. after receiving a report of a shooting.

Officers found a vehicle that had been shot multiple times. The driver subsequently crashed the vehicle into a carport in the same block of Westacre Drive.

The driver was transported to an area hospital for injuries sustained in the vehicle crash. Police said no gunshot wounds had been reported as of the time of their post.

Westacre is North of Race Street in what is referred to as the Fairview addition.

The department’s Criminal Investigation Division is handling the investigation.

Police have not released additional information about the circumstances surrounding the shooting or identified the driver.
