Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – July 30, 2024 – The Family Dollar on Gee Street was the scene of a recent assault of an employee by a customer.

When officers got to the store, they made contact with a 64-year-old female victim. She had an orange substance on her face. The officers could easily tell she’d been pepper sprayed.

The victim told the officers that a female in her 20’s came into the store and purchased a container of pepper spray. After the suspect made that purchase, she tried to buy a few other things, but her card was declined. An argument started. Somehow, it was the victim’s fault that the card was declined. Then, the suspect used the pepper spray she’d just bought on the employee.

After that, the suspect left the scene. The whole incident was on security video. JPD is looking for the suspect.
