Train Conductor hit by train

Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Aug 27, 2024 – Jonesboro Police responded to a train vs pedestrian incident on Monday where one person was taken to the hospital.

KAIT reported that the crash happened off Cottage Home Trail on the east side of Jonesboro.

In a police report released on Tuesday, JPD stated that a train conductor was hit by a train on accident. The victim, a 42-year-old male, is listed as an employee of BNSF railroad.

The report states that the incident happened near a rail car switch location. The worker dropped his radio and bent down to pick it up, in doing so he was struck by a ladder that was connected to a rail car and sustained a head injury. He was unable to communicate with the police officer on scene and was transported to a local hospital.

The narrative states that it was a “work related incident” and there was no crime that had been committed.
