‘Treasure Hunt’ Mobile Office Coming to Jonesboro to Return $220K in Unclaimed Property

Jonesboro, AR – Jonesboro Right Now – Arkansas State Auditor Dennis Milligan is bringing the Great Arkansas Treasure Hunt Outreach Team to Jonesboro Wednesday to help locals find their missing money.

The mobile office will be set up at the Jonesboro Municipal Center from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The service is free.

According to a press release, the goal of the event is to reunite Arkansans with their unclaimed property, which can consist of financial items deemed abandoned by their owners. This can include forgotten bank accounts, utility deposit reimbursements, life insurance proceeds, and shares of stock.

Representatives from the Auditor of State’s office will be on-site to help residents search for unclaimed money and submit the necessary documentation to file a claim. Staff can also assist with forms that need to be notarized.

The auditor’s office said that there is more than $220,000 in unclaimed money owe to businesses and residents in Jonesboro. At 11 a.m., Milligan and State Rep. Jack Ladyman (R-Jonesboro) will present Jonesboro Mayor Harold Copenhaver with a ceremonial check representing the total amount owed locally.
