Arkansas Secretary of State runoff election set for late-March

Craighead County, AR – JonesboroRightNow.com – Early voting for the Arkansas Secretary of State runoff is set to begin soon.

The race is between state Sen. Kim Hammer (R-Benton) and Bryan Norris. During the Republican preferential primary, Hammer, Norris, and Miller County Judge Cathy Hardin Harrison ran for the seat, but no candidate secured a majority vote.

According to election results from the Arkansas Secretary of State, Norris received 34.4% of the vote, Hammer 33.46%, and Hardin 32.13%. Harrison did not secure enough votes to make it to the runoff, the Arkansas Democrat Gazette reported. This is a statewide runoff.

The winner of this race will go up against Democratic candidate Kelly Grappe and Libertarian candidate Michael Pakko in the November general election.

According to information from Craighead County, those who voted on a Republican or nonpartisan ballot, or did not vote in the primary, can vote in this runoff.

Early voting for the race will occur March 24-30, with polls open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be no Saturday voting. There are two early voting centers in Craighead County, which are listed below:

  • Craighead County Election Annex
    • 315 W. Jefferson Ave., Jonesboro
  • Lake City Courthouse
    • 113 Cobean Blvd., Lake City

Election Day is set for March 31 from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Polling locations across Craighead County are listed below:

  • Allen Park Community Center: 3609 Race St.
  • Earl Bell Community Center: 1212 S. Church St.
  • Forest Home Church of the Nazarene: 2403 Ritter Drive
  • Fowler Center: 201 Olympic Drive
  • Parker Park Community Center: 1522 N. Church St.
  • Valley View Church of Christ: 4500 Southwest Drive
  • Walnut Street Baptist Church: 1910 Scenic Road

Bay:

  • Bay United Methodist Church: 300 Central Ave.

Bono:

  • Bono Church of Christ: 101 Craftsbury

Brookland:

  • Wood’s Chapel Baptist Church: 175 Hwy. 230 East

Caraway:

  • Caraway City Hall: 102 E. State St.

Cash:

  • Cash City Hall: 4391 Hwy. 18

Lake City:

  • Lake City Eastern Annex: 113 Cobean Blvd.

Monette:
