Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – June 21, 2024 – Munchys was located on Caraway Road for 48 years, but the iconic sandwich shop moved to their new location on Red Wolf Boulevard in January of this year.

Jonesboro businessman Navid Budhwani purchased the 1575 square-foot building on Caraway as an investment opportunity. He already owns a couple of Exxon locations on Caraway Road and was looking to expand his business portfolio.

So, what’s the plan for the old Munchys building?

“I’m open to the idea of a restaurant,” he said, “I’ve had someone reach out to me about putting in a bakery. I’m open to leasing it out. I’m open to operating it myself. I just want to get something of value in here… something that people will appreciate. I want to take my time and figure it out.”

How much time?

“I told myself when I bought it that I’d give myself 6 months,” Navid said. “It’s already been a month.”

He closed on his purchase in mid-May.

“We’re a growing town. It’s changed so much since I moved here 12 years ago. I want something that people see in other cities. Something that Haag Brown does very well – Josh Brown brings new opportunities into this town, and he does a good job of it. That’s something I want to work toward as well.”

And now, Navid says he wants input. “I’ve got this location… what do you think my team and I should have here?”

“I’m looking at all of the paths with an open mind.”
