Jonesboro, AR – JonesboroRightNow.com – Several workshops and classes are scheduled in March at the Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library.

On March 10 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., the library will be hosting an Intro to Internet Searching class for community members. The class is beginner-friendly and will teach participants the basics of searching techniques, choosing reliable results and how to stay safe while browsing online.

“The class is designed for those who are new to internet use or anyone looking to strengthen their digital skills in a supportive, easy-to-follow environment,” a library press release said. “Library staff will provide step-by-step guidance and helpful resources to ensure participants leave feeling more comfortable and capable when searching online.”

The class is free, and no registration is required.

Additionally, the library will be hosting two Tween Stations programs for students in fourth through sixth grades. Both programs, of which registration is not required, will take place in the Round Room.

The first station’s theme will be camping and will take place on March 10 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Participants will roast marshmallows, learn how to tie knots and learn other outdoor skills.

The second station theme will be fantasy adventure and will take place March 24 from 4 to 5 p.m. Patrons will create magic amulets, torches, design maps and other activities to enhance their fantastical adventure.

On March 11 from 4 to 5 p.m., the library will be hosting a Fantasy Origami Workshop for teens in the Round Room. Registration is not required.

“This hands-on workshop will introduce teens to the art of origami while drawing inspiration from creatures of legend,” a library press release said. “Teens will learn paper-folding techniques as they create mythical dragons, unicorns, and other fantastical figures to take home.”

The library is located at 315 W. Oak Ave. For more information about the library, visit its website, Facebook page, or call 870-935-5133.
